§ 9-95. Application for, issuance of license.

  • (a)

    The finance officer is hereby authorized and empowered to supervise and regulate sales coming under the provisions of this article and to issue appropriate licenses therefor. Such licenses shall be issued by the finance officer upon the written sworn application in a form approved by the city clerk and verified by the person who, or by an officer of the corporation which, intends to conduct the sale. Such application shall contain a description of the place where such sale is to be held, the nature of the occupancy, whether by lease or sublease, and the effective date of the termination of such occupancy, and the media to be employed in publishing such sale. Such application shall further contain, as part thereof, a complete, itemized list of the goods, wares and merchandise to be offered for sale, which shall include the actual dollar cost of each such piece of stock. Such application shall contain any additional information which the finance officer may reasonably require.

    (b)

    Upon receipt of such application and payment of the fee hereinafter prescribed, the finance officer shall examine the same, and may make such investigation as he may deem proper. If after such investigation he is satisfied as to the truth of the statement contained in such application, he shall issue a license permitting the publication and conduct of such sale.
