§ 5-83. Modifications, amendments, deletions.

  • The National Electrical Code adopted and incorporated by reference in section 5-81 is modified and specified hereunder:

    (a)

    Amend Article 100 definitions to include, in alphabetical order:

    Electrical constructing or contracting means and includes and governs all work and materials used in installing, maintaining, or extending a system of electrical wiring for light, heat or power, and any appurtenances thereto, and any apparatus or equipment used in connection therewith, inside of or attached to any building or structure, lot or premises.

    Energy management device is a device designed to control the electrical current to residential or commercial electrical loads during periods of peak demand.

    (b)

    Central Florida Advisory Code Committee Code Notice "L" (as specifically set forth in Exhibit "C" attached hereto Ord. No. 96-30 and made a part hereof as if set forth herein verbatim) is hereby adopted along with the following exceptions:

    (1)

    Except for No. 1 A.W.G. and larger conductors for residential and commercial services and panel feeders, the use of aluminum wiring is prohibited.

    (2)

    Fixtures on ceilings of seven (7) feet and no inches clear height may extend below the ceiling provided a clearance of not less than six (6) feet eight (8) inches is maintained. Keyless and other bare bulb type fixtures shall not be allowed in these locations.
