§ 2-206. Authority of Code Enforcement Officers; authorization to issue citations.

  • (a)

    A Code Enforcement Officer is authorized to issue a citation to any Violator when, based upon personal investigation, the officer has reasonable cause to believe that the Violator has committed or is responsible for a violation of any of the City's codes or ordinances.

    (b)

    A citation may be issued for a violation of any City code or ordinance except building codes adopted pursuant to F.S. § 553.73, as such building codes apply to construction, provided that a building permit is either not required or has been issued by the City.

    (c)

    A Code Enforcement Officer shall have no power of arrest nor is the Officer subject to the provisions of F.S. §§ 943.085—943.255.
