§ 12-6. Action upon noncompliance.

  • Upon the failure, neglect or refusal of any owner or the agent of such owner so notified to cut, destroy and/or remove weeds, grass, undergrowth, rubbish, debris, trash, deleterious and unhealthy growth, or other noxious matter growing, lying or located upon such owner's property, or upon the sidewalk abutting same, within the reasonable time specified after receipt of the written notice provided for in section 12-4 or within the reasonable time specified after first posting the property in the event the notice is returned to the city post office department because of its inability to make delivery thereof, provided the notice was properly addressed to the owner or the agent of such owner, the code enforcement officer is hereby authorized to order the destruction and/or removal of such weeds, grass, undergrowth, rubbish, debris, trash, deleterious and unhealthy growth or other noxious matter by the city.
